Level: Elementary/Pre-intermediate Language introduced/revised: school words. Children should know words that related to the school topic and be able to ask for things politely in the classroom.

Lesson Proceduresخطوات الدرس Arabic in Brief Time
Warm Up Aim: To introduce the topic to students
1- Tell your students that they are going to play a guessing game. Put them in four teams (if you have a big class), or two teams. Tell them that each team has four chances to guess the word. Teams try to guess the word in turns.
2- Put this on the board_ _ _ _ _ _ . Tell students that the word they should guess is a noun; it’s a place they go to in September; some of them like it and some don’t.
3- Draw a box at the bottom of the board, Explain that this box is the incorrect letter box.
4- When a team guesses a correct letter, put it in the right space _ c _ o _ _
Put the incorrect letters in the incorrect letter box. The winner is the team that gets most of the letters.
5- After they guess the word, write SCHOOL twice on the board. In two teams, students write as many school related words as possible. The winner is the team that writes more words.
1- اخبر طلابك أنهم سوف يقومون بلعب لعبة تخمين الكلمة، قسمهم الى مجموعتين أو أربعة (تبعاً لعدد الطلاب في الفصل). و كل فريق لديه أربع فرص لمعرفة الكلمة.
2-قم بوضع خطوط على السبورة - - - - - و ابدأ بإعطاء الطلاب بعض المعلومات لمساعدتهم في معرفة الكلمة. ارسم صندوق على السبورة لوضع الأحرف الخطأ فيه.
3-ضع الحرف الذي يحزره أي فريق في مكانه الصحيح.
4-بعد معرفة الكلمة، اكتبها على السبورة و الفريق الفائز هو الفريق الذي يكتب أكبر عدد من الكلمات التي لها علاقة بهذه الكلمة.

Presentation of vocabulary Aim: To introduce school vocabulary
1- Enlarge school flashcards 1, school flashcards 2, and school flashcards 3. Put the cards face down on your desk. Reveal the cards one by one and ask ”What’s this?”
2- Pelmanism: Write letters on the back of the picture flashcards; write numbers on the back of the word cards. Put all the cards face down on the floor. Put the students in two teams; they compete to find the right picture/word match. The winner is the team that has more matches.
Aim: To spell new words correctly
3- Write ENP on the board. Tell your students that this is something we use at school to write with, but the letters are not in order. After the students come up with the right answer, write it on the board, and then give them the ‘Pens & pencils’ worksheet; tell them they have 7 minutes to do it. When they finish, students check answers in pairs. Check answers with them on an overhead projector if you have one, or on the board.
Aim: To develop writing and speaking skills
4- Show your students a bag. Tell them that it is your school bag. Look in your bag and say: “In my school bag, I’ve got five pens, two pencils, an eraser and a ruler. What’s in your school bag?” After you get answers from them, ask them to look in their school bags and do exercise 2 on the same worksheet. Then, in pairs, students tell each other about what they have in their bags.
الهدف من التمرين: معرفة المفردات المدرسية
1- ابدأ بوضع بطاقات المدرسة المصورة 1، و 2، و 3، ووجهها الي الأسفل ، اقلب البطاقات واحدة تلو الاخري و اسأل الطلاب عنها .
2- لعبة الذاكرة: قم بكتابة أحرف على ظهر البطاقات المصورة، وأرقام على ظهر بطاقات الكلمات ثم ضعها مقلوبة على الأرض و قسّم الطلاب إلى فريقين و الغريق الفائز هو الذي يجمع اكبر عدد من الصور/الكلمات المتطابقة.
الهدف من التمرين: هجاء الكلمات الجديدة بشكل صحيح
على السبوره ENP 3-اكتب
و قل لهم أنها اسم لأداة تستخدم في المدرسة للكتابة بها إلا أن الحروف غير مرتبة. اكتب الكلمة صحيحة على السبورة بعد أن يتعرف الطلاب عليها، ثم اعط الطلاب ورقة العمل و أخبرهم أن لديهم 7 دقائق لحلها. اطلب منهم العمل في أزواج لمراجعة اجاباتهم، ثم قم بمراجعة الاجابة معهم.
الهدف من التمرين: تطوير مهارات الكتابة و التحدث
4-دع الطلاب يتعرفون على محتويات حقيبتك المدرسية، ثم يعرفونك بما يوجد داخل حقائبهم.

Listening Preparation This lesson is a follow up to the previous stages.
Aim: To teach students request expressions
1- Use flash cards to pre-teach “scissors and crayons”, or bring crayons and scissors with you and elicit their names.
2- Grab a pen from a student and say: “Give me that;” ask students whether that was GOOD or BAD behaviour. When they say it was BAD behaviour, elicit expressions we use to ask for things politely, like “Have you got some/a/an……………? Can I have some/a/an…………..? Here you are.” Write the expressions on the board.
3- Show your students the school flashcards to check whether they still remember the school objects they learnt last lesson.
4- Pair the students up. Tell them that student A has all the classroom objects, and that student B should ask for them politely. Remind your students of the expressions on the board. Give student A the picture flashcards; ask student A not to give the flashcards to student B if they do not ask POLITELY.
Tip: Briefly explain that we use ‘some’ with scissors and crayons and glue; we use ‘an’ with eraser; and we use ‘a’ with the remaining objects on the flashcards. You can stick the flash cards on the board and put the right articles next to them.
Model the activity with a good student. Make a mistake and say “I want a pen;” instead of “Can I have a pen, please?” and wait for the students’ reaction.

الهدف من التمرين: تعليم الطلاب أسلوب الطلب
1- قم باستخدام البطاقات المصورة لتعرف الطلاب بالمقص و الألوان أو احضر بعضهم معك الي الفصل.
2- خذ قلم من يد أحد الطلاب بقوة و أسألهم ما اذا كان هذا السلوك حسناً أو سيئاً. بعد أن يجيبوا بأنه سلوك سيئ. اطلب منهم اقتراح بعض الجمل التي يمكن استخدامها لطلب شيئ ما بأسلوب مهذب و اكتب هذه الجمل على السبورة.
3-قم بمراجعة البطاقات المصورة المستخدمة في الدرس السابق.
4-اختر طالبين (Α وΒ) و اخبرهم بأن الطالب Α لديه جميع محتويات الفصل و لتكن على شكل بطاقات مصورة و اطلب من الطالب Β أن يقوم بطلب هذه الاشياء من الطالب Α بأسلوب مهذب و في كل مره يطلب بها أحد الأشياء بأسلوب مهذب يأخذ البطاقة اما اذا قام بطلب الشئ بأسلوب غير مهذب لا يحصل علي البطاقة.
باختصار اشرح للطلاب بأن كلمة EMOS تستخدم مع المقصات، و الألوان و الصمغ و نستخدم na مع الممحاه و نستخدم a لتسمية الأشياء الأخري الموجودة في البطاقات المصورة.

Listening Activity Aim: To develop listening to instructions and requests
1- Ask students about instructions that teachers use with them in the classroom. Elicit “Stand up, sit down, quiet please, turn to page 3.”
2- In the computer room, students listen to the song http://www.go4english.com/ffk/read.php?unitid=1978 once. Ask them to name the objects that were in the song. Students listen to the song one more time and try to remember the instructions the teacher gave his students.
3- Song re-ordering: Copy the song words on a word documents. Cut up the song up into slips of sentences. In teams of three, students listen to the song and order the sentences.
4- Gap fill: Copy the song words. Create a gap filling exercise by taking out about ten words, preferably words that your students have learnt. Ask them to listen to the song and fill in the gaps. They do it alone, and then check answers in pairs. Check answers with them on an overhead projector if you have one.
5- Encourage the students to sing the song loudly. Sing along with them. Repeat the song about two times.

1-أسال الطلاب عن التعليمات التي يستخدمها المدرسون معهم في الفصل ، مثل
“Stand up , sit down ,quiet please , turn to page 3”
2- اجعل الطلاب يقومون بالاستماع الى الأغنية التالية مرة واحدة:

اطلب منهم ذكر الأشياء التي وردت في الأغنية ثم سماع الأغنية مرة أخري و يحاولون تذكر التعليمات التي أعطاها المدرس للطلاب في الأغنية.
3-إعادة ترتيب الأغنية: قم بكتابة كلمات الأغنية على ورقة ثم قطعها الى مجموعات من الجمل. قسم الطلاب الى مجموعات من ثلاث و اجعلهم يقومون بترتيب جمل الأغنيه بعد سماعها.
4-ملأ الفراغات :اكتب كلمات الأغنية على ورقة ثم قم بانتزاع عشرة كلمات تعلمها الطلاب أثناء الدرس و اجعلهم يستمعون الى الاغنيه و من ثم ملأ الفراغات بكلمات الأغنية المناسبة.
5- شجع الطلاب على غناء الأغنية بصوت عالي ، و غن معهم و كرر هذه العمليه لمرتين.

Wrap Up Homework
1- Tell students that their homework is about something that boys and girls wear when they go to school. If they do not wear it they get punished. When they get the answer, write UNIFORM on the board. Ask them what uniform items that are wearing.
2- Explain exercises A and B of the school uniform worksheet on an overhead projector. If you do not have an OHP, enlarge the activity on an A3 sheet, and explain the task.
3- Check answers with students the following lesson on an OHP.
Tip: Make sure that homework is not given right at the end of the lesson- stop before the end to tell them what it is. Then you have their full attention.
فرض منزلي:
1- اخبر الطلاب أن واجبهم يدور حول شئ يلبسه الأولاد و البنات عند ذهابهم الى المدرسة و إلا تتم معاقبتهم ,عند معرفتهم الاجابة، اكتب الكلمة على السبورة و اطلب منهم تسمية كل قطعة من الزي المدرسي الذي يرتدونه.
2- اشرح التمرين Β و Α الموجودين في ورقة عمل الزي المدرسي.
3- قم بمراجعة حلول الفرض المنزلي مع الطلاب في الحصة التالية.
نصيحة: تأكد من عدم اعطاء الطلاب الفرض المنزلي مباشرة في نهاية الحصة و ذلك للتأكد من فهمهم للمطلوب منهم و لجذب انتباههم.
